Note to Matt Drudge: Probably not the best day to run the ad you have on the top of your site.

Mr. Roeper: Could you please explain your point? The problem isn’t with the military, it’s with muslims in the military. I think your post is going to anger a lot of people. Maybe you should rein in your liberalism a bit. I’m just sayin’ …
Well it’s just a bit in bad taste (or just REALLY bad timing). The whole problem is with Muslims in the militray? So there can be NO Muslims in our military who love the U.S.? I don’t think so. My whole problem is people who group ALL people of one religion in with the zealots of that religion. But hey – that’s just me.
To spell it out: Jesse Kelly used the image to inspire people to vote for him. Matt Drudge & company displayed the ad (supporters of Kelly who knows? It doesn’t matter). Instead the image ends up reminding people of the Fort Hood incident.
What on earth is the matter with you, Simon?! ALL soldiers are nutters and muderers? Shame on you! What brave act have you performed lately that justifies your saying that? Were you ripped out of your life and drafted? Were you sent to some jungle in southeast Asia to fight a war that made no sense? Were you in Iraq or Afghanistan fighting in 100+ degree heat risking the possibility of kidnap or beheading? Yes the Fort Hood assassin was crazy and cowardly, but to lump all soldiers in the same category is unconcsionable!

Why was it a bad idea? Seems like you’re arguing apples and oranges.

I don’t see what’s wrong with the ad either.

Come on goobers!
This is irony.
The ad bears obvious similarities with this soldier freak-out episode.
“Bad timing” YES! It certainly was unfortunate timing.

All soldiers are nutters and murderers, geddit? It would have been the same if the second picture had been of Goebbels.
Mr Roeper is more to be pitied than despised.
This might help: 10mg of Aripiprazole daily.

I just re-read Simon’s comment; realize he may have meant something else. In the words of Roseann Rosannadanna (Gilda Radner character): “never mind.”
