Finally. I’m excited about the U.S. premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for two reasons:
1. We finally get to see what J.J. Abrams has done to return “Star Wars” to its original glory.
2. I don’t think I could take another week of hype. In the history of cinema, I can’t imagine any film that attracted this much attention. More words have been written in advance of “The Force Awakens” than any other film, ever. (What would even be in second place?)
Can “The Force Awakens” live up to the hype? No. Nothing can live up to this level of insanity. Even if it’s the best movie ever made, it’s still a movie. Even as someone who loves movies and sees 300 films a year, I can’t imagine being as psyched about any single movie as some fans are when it comes to “Star Wars.”
Having said that, here we go! Pics from the U.S. premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
I’ll have my full reviews–written and on-camera–on Wednesday.
May the—ah, you don’t need to hear that for the millionth time this year.
Cheers,
RR
